Audio: About Alysha Smith

Alysha Smith is a junior at Lawton-Bronson High School. She was nominated by Kristy Smith:

Alysha is a very busy student that also gives back to her community, she is a member of National Honor Society, with a 3.77 GPA, she is a basketball cheerleading captain, plays in the school band, is a big sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters, is a kingergarten teacher in Nativity Parish's religious education program, and has started taking training classes with the Red Cross to be a volunteer. Alysha does all this even though she has a heart condition that required her to have an internal defibrillator implanted when she was 11 years old. She has overcome a lot of medical problems but hasn't let that stop her from doing anything. She is a very caring person who loves working with kids. I think she is a terrific role model for anyone who gets the chance to meet her.
